It is a sturdy packaging material made of three layers of paper. During manufacturing, the inner sheet is put through the corrugation process to create 'S' shaped flutes depending on the thickness; and attached to a VK/SK/WKL liner base forming a 2 ply corrugated sheet. Then a printed sheet is pasted on the flute side to form a 3ply box, similar process is followed for 5 ply and 7 ply box
